Fly Plaids & Brooches
The image of a Fly Plaid probably dates back to a time before the pleated kilt, when a plaid (blanket) was wrapped around the body and the remaining length of fabric was thrown over the shoulder. Nowadays the Fly Plaid is generally worn only by the groom at his wedding, or on another very formal occasion, and is pinned to the jacket shoulder with a sturdy Plaid Brooch.
